Sunday School Classes

Theologians and experts will tell you that "the church" has 5 major functions. They include: worship, fellowship, education, evangelism, and prayer. Here at Lynn Haven Baptist Church the primary way we seek to fulfill our calling for education, fellowship, and prayer is through small groups that gather on Sunday morning during what we call "The Sunday School Hour".

Each week at 9:30AM the building comes alive with small groups meeting in various locations. On your first visit to the church, the easiest thing to do is to enter through the glass doors near the gymnasium, and we'll have greeters to get everyone in your family to the right place.

Preschoolers, children, and youth meet upstairs in various rooms depending on age, while adults meet in downstairs classrooms.

We currently have an intergenerational co-ed class called "The Paraclete Class" taught by Jim Rivers. The word "paraclete" was a word Jesus used to talk about the coming of the Holy Spirit, who would "walk alongside" believers. For members of our Paraclete class, we walk alongside one another in our faith, trusting that The Holy Spirit will guide us all.

We also have a very active ladies class taught by Nancy Bowser called "The Faith" class. Ladies of various ages gather and study God's word together each week and do a wonderful job of looking after one another's needs throughout the week.

We hope to begin two new classes on Sunday, September 6, 2026.  Pastor John will be teaching a class called "The Builders" which will target adults in the 25-40ish age range. We have chosen the name "The Builders" as we intend to use the guidance of God's Word to build strong lives, strong homes, and a strong church. We also hope to add a men's class specifically designed to create a greater fellowship among the men of our congregation and community.
